How many pages a good CV should be?
some say 3 some say 2 and some say 1 can tell everything about you.
How about i worked in more than 5 jobs and i have to write all of them going behind 3 pages?
Is this will affect the application negatively?

Dear Alex, first page is more important page in CV, so put in first page summary about your work history, and I advice do not talk about much your duties, but about your achievement,

We believe that there are no real tools to measure this as the opinions are mixed.
But from our perspective which is not a standard thing we can say there are few factors apply on the numbers of pages of the resume.

1- The type and the level of the position.
2- The size of the company and the complexity of the human resources process.
3- The urgency of the position.
4- The quality requirements.

1- The type and the level of the position:
As a human resources manager, hiring a cleaning worker needs less details than an executive position, for the executives lets say companies pay 100s of thousands of dollars yearly for the candidates for these positions, at this point paying this salary needs a lot of details, we need to make sure that this person is eligible for the salary we will pay and can handle these responsibilities, a lot of details means more insights due to the sensitivity of the position, telling the full story of each previous position means more details about skills and the abilities of this person, but with cleaning worker, usually there is not complexity of skills level and can be predicted easily with short details.

2- The size of the company and the complexity of the human resources process.
This is something almost related to #1 with the big companies usually you have a team of many people working in HR handling the hiring process, so this reduces the pressure of this department, That means, the HR workers get enough time to go and read these applications long or short, also, they have enough time and space to look into every single detail because they have more people backing their up with other duties in the department, so they read long applications with no issues, but in small companies, you have 2 workers, 100s of applications daily for 2 or 3 positions, and then to stick to the given deadlines, long applications may not be preferred.

3- The urgency of the position.
The urgency can play a role and affect the hiring process related to the number of pages.
You have 3 days to close the position, 100s of CVs, and you want to make a quick decision, so some CV`s will take 3 minutes reading time, some may take more than 7.you will prefer the 3 minutes ones to meet the strict deadline.

4- The quality requirements.
Also, related to #1 and #2, giving more details through your resume means helping the HR worker to execute better quality process. big companies have no issues vetting the candidates most of the time, to ensure the quality even if processing few CVs only per day, and this is not related to the level but to ensure the quality through enough details.

Agree with this one, once i was reviewing a CV of oil and gas engineer and it was made of 12 pages. This was the reason that person got hired, his CV came with a lot of details.
